Love getting into a routine for several months and then get what I am assuming is a hernia right before the new year starts and ruin all my progress and motivation. Doctors appointment on Tuesday but I doubt I’m able to start lifting again until February or March
Sorry man. Hope its a quick recovery. I had every intention of rolling into the new year with a new running and workout plan but ended up with a TERRIBLE cold this whole week. Slowly on the mend but plan to get back on the bike the second I am able.
Ignore this wrong thread lol In more relevant news I just ordered those fitness disk things that you use to slide around?? Idk they were on sale and helped my order qualify for free shipping.
Crazy storms here all night and most of the morning, but I was able to get out for a quick 1-mile run to keep my running streak going at 4 whole days! That's 10% of my goal, and I only had to dodge 1 downed tree on the way, so I'll call it a success.
Went to the gym for the first time in over a month today as Chicago now has its vaccine mandate in place. Not sure how much good it will do with omicron ripping (wore a KN95 the entire time) but I hope they keep it when things get better.
You don’t, by chance, go to the LSAC do you? That’s my gym and I saw a dude in an Alk3 shirt there yesterday and thought maybe that person was on Chorus.
Peloton riders, add me? doubleohkevin Also, I just did the Toole metal ride (12/28) and holy fuck was that tough.
I'm not a huge cardio person so I slog thru her videos sometimes but omg she destroys me. I just burned more calories in 20 min than I usually do in a workout but at what cost?! The moves themselves are always easy but the speed and repetition kills me. I swear I have the lung capacity of a 90 year old smoker. She says dance but it's a lie it's hiit thru and thru
I'm with you. Not sure that going to the gym is even worth it right now, though I'm boosted and all that. What a world.
Charleston next weekend. Obviously I shouldn’t be surprised or upset given that *motions at everything*, but I really worked hard to train for this and now there’s just no endgame lol
Yeah, that's really terrible, especially since it's less than 2 weeks away. Like you're already trained and ready to go. Are you just chalking it up as a loss or looking for a replacement race? side note: I almost signed up for this race and so glad now that I did not.
sorry to hear this! I’m starting to grow concerned about almost all of the ones I signed up for this year (5). The first one is in March but it’s in Iowa and no offense to Iowa but I feel like that’s a state that is just gonna press on. My biggest concern is San Fran in July getting cancelled AGAIN after the last two years have been cancelled or delayed to the point I couldn’t go. Any chance you can find another one close by within a few weeks after the one that was cancelled?
Tried deadlifting again for the first time in forever, immediately hurt my lower back and I even used one of those belt things. Felt ok while doing it but these past few days have been brutal whenever I sit down too long or when I wake up in the morning. Already told myself this before but I'm 100% never trying it again.
I got my bloodwork results in. According to the ranges my fasting glucose is in the “prediabetes” range. They’re also suppose to check my thyroid but maybe those results will be in later. Guess I have to wait to hear back from my doctor, but extreme fatigue is a symptom of prediabetes!! Which would explain things. Other than that I don’t really have any other symptoms but i also read you can be asymptomatic.
Extreme fatigue is also a sign of low thyroid. Super easy to fix but it’s still something to look for.
I'm making it a personal goal to play Dance Dance Revolution at least once a week (optimally 2 or 3 times) for at least an hour each time because it's one of the only forms of exercise I actually enjoy and I honestly slacked off way too much last year
