Stranger Sounds has crept up as one of my favorites

 

This record is really cool and weird and challenging and ambitious and surprising. It's just wild to me that they went out without any label support and made an album that was so risky, and I have so much respect for them for making what they wanted to make and really pushing themselves creatively when they could have just rehashed what they did on Bloodlines and had a much easier road to success. I really hope people give it the chance and the repeated plays it deserves.

 

This does not sound like an unsigned band.

I hope someone picks them up and gets them on a good bill

Completely agree. This record is fascinating, though, I needed a few listens to "get" it but man... it's so, so cool. I really want to hear these new songs live. I think the Gates tour is a good fit.

Is it just me or is no one really talking about this album? I've been listening to it a ton, might be my favorite thing released this year. Can't wait for my vinyl copy to get here.

crazy. i really liked pulse but didn't think much about the whole album on first listen. guess i'm gonna have to spend some time with it

 

Didn't like this at all the first few times. Probably my AOTY so far now though. It's incredible.

Microwave and HN's split was a super promissing album, and while Microwave's "new" record is good, it is very inferior to the split (and somwhat of a disappointment)

here's hoping HN deliver on their promise

Yeah I just consider it to be the closer whenever I listen. Works fine.

 

this is a real bizarre album. not even close to what i expected from this band after bloodlines and the microwave split. definitely not like anything else in the scene rn. gonna echo the broke comments too

 

Listened to this the other day and was blown away. Gonna throw it on again today

 

I can't believe how much I didn't like this at first. It's still getting better and better.

 

How do we get this to catch on with more people?

I can't believe people aren't creaming over this record.

 

I tweeted at them about guitar tunings for a few songs on this record and they got back to me within minutes. Best dudes. Amazing album.
