With a heart so shriveled up Something inside animates How dare you speak of love With a heart so shriveled up My headcanon is now that LORD SLUG is secretly a song about the grinch and sung from the perspective of the angry Whos down in Whoville
this is becoming one of the only things i want to listen to riffy, catchy, fun stuff with some of schuylar’s best vocal performances
After a month of heavy listening, I have to say that Honey from the Hive, Return to the Garden, and Lord Slug are the standouts for me. Thoroughly sick album though.
Really digging how adventurous some of the guitar work is on this album. The chorus of Seamistress and the main riff of Time's Fake are a little more flashy than usual.
Man the IHY vinyl press sounds so much better than IAH. I was bummed that the band said they weren't really involved in it, but glad it came out well. Now if we could just get Suck Out The Poison pressed
I'm loving Endless Hallway more and more with each listen. The production/mixing is impeccable. I'm really impressed with how the low-tuned guitars come through with such clarity. This might be a solid number 3 behind It Hates You and White Bat.
Wtf I didn’t even know this came out I can’t believe I missed it- listening to this first thing tomorrow
Still waiting for the world to come to their senses and make this band as huge as they deserve to be.
Fuuuuuuck none of those dates work for me either. That fuckin sucks, seeing them and Greyhaven would be a definite show for me.
So despite preordering the record and being a pretty big HIL fan - I’ve never listened to Endless Hallway in full. Just the singles. I did this past weekend and MY GOD this record rulez. It’s their most consistent record in quite some time and has probably the best mix for the band. It’s also easily my favorite since It Hates You (I like Few and White Bat but they both have a couple clunkers IMO) which is exciting. I was surprised it took me this long to fully listen to it but I decided to once I finally got the shipping notification for the vinyl and goddamn. This band deserves to be so much bigger from this record alone.
It's an absolute monster of an album. Lyrically, musically, production-wise, just everything. I don't know why it didn't do as well as White Bat did.
I feel like it was barely marketed, if at all, and HIL is having a hard time getting on decent tours (for some unknown reason) to properly tour it too.
Just wanting to state the opinion that Sink Hole is one of the best songs these fellas have ever written as a fact.
