It Hates You will always be my favorite, but I’ve been jamming the hell out of Few lately. Beaufort, Silent Gold, Eastern Locust, The Vampyre, and The Garden are some of my all time favorite Legend tunes.
Finally giving the new I Am Hollywood vinyl a spin. I'm no audiophile, but it sounds pretty damn good to me. The clipping seems to be resolved thankfully. It's so wild listening to this record, knowing where they would later take their sound. It's like a different band.
I think it’s gonna happen with every record and it never does. I don’t know what it is that’s holding them back. Bad tours?
I personally think they’ve made very very good records, but nothing that’s transcended the scene. Hoping they keep at it because I think they have it in them.
Damn, this is rough haha. No wonder they went on hiatus shortly after. The "I Am Hollywood" fakeout at the end is savage.
Yeah I think they were getting tours where they were ill fitted at that time, and they seemed really burned out.
I remember thinking that was probably the end of the band, which was so disappointing as they had just released their masterpiece. I'm so glad they came back rejuvenated and have managed to keep that positive energy ever since.
Looking back, their break up was so short I tend to forget they even stopped for a moment... until I remember there was a 5 years gap between It Hates You and Heavy Fruit.
I think that firm has passed for them. It’s been 2 decades. I enjoy the band but I believe that break is in the rear view.
I feel like if they toured with better bands more in line with their vibe, they could get fairly popular. I could see them touring with deftones, Melvins, or even mastodon. Anything but Attila…
There were a lot of bands in that era that never got their fair shake. Always felt like The Jonbenet and Folly didn't really have good folks to your with because of their wild sounds. Such a bummer.
