Absolutely, I just meant in terms of like what projects she's focusing on, solo seems more apparent. Not speculating any further since it's not my or the fans' business.

I mean, she released this album. I'd say that's publicizing her feelings. Why aren't people allowed to speculate on what the songs mean? lol

 

There's a very short video of Phoenix performing on the website's Misc folder, wonder if there's more to this? A member contributing or them being an inspiration for the album's sound.

idk, she chose to write about those things but we’re not supposed to discuss them? taylor, olivia, adele, etc have have openly shared that type of detail in their lyrics and those fan bases have no issue analyzing those.

Right. Not sure why we need to be protective over Hayley when she chose to write and release these songs.

 

Wasn't sure about EDAABP at first but the second listen changed that. Discovery Channel is a weird one for me... but I think I dig it. The verses are great and heartbreaking and then the chorus is just so left field but I imagine there's missing personal context for that one.

 

Sorry, are there lyrics on this record explicitly saying that she and Taylor York broke up or is that all speculation to justify talking about them maybe breaking up? Like, a lot of artists still write about heartbreak even if they're in loving relationships. That kind of material is *in there*, you know?

 

There were some lines in “love me different”that certainly made me think that. Paired with those vague rumors a few weeks ago in the pmore thread. But who knows.

 

the vocal effect on the verses of glum are a little weird but other than that the last 7 songs are perfect for me

 

I think, like with Petals and Vases, that I feel really similarly here - there are some really great songs and some others I don't like.

I don't like Discovery Channel or Glum. She has a great knack for a hook and layers songs really well though. Will need repeated listens, preferably on streaming please!

 

i see both sides. i've also admittedly been super exposed to a lot of doomposting about paramore's future and their relationship today. just not my cup of tea to speculate but i understand those that do, just gets personally exhausting to see. but i know i can just stop reading if i want. didn't intend to start anything so my b.

 

finally starting this. True Believer's melodies remind me a lot of the song Proof by Souvenirs off of Posture of Apology. beautiful stuff too
