Creepin' is so good. I can't believe people don't like it. I also don't think there's a song on here I would cut.
I wouldn't cut anything on here, but the album tries on so many hats that I see why people think it ebbs and flows in certain places (there are certainly moments in songs that don't hit as hard, but not a whole song imo). I'd love to see her make a leaner record next time that's really focused on one particular sound. Or just more Paramore. Whatever she wants, I'm game at this point.
Can’t get it to load on here, but tidal uses animated album covers for new releases now (and also they apparently still exist) here’s the cover for this: https://resources.tidal.com/videos/0770a935/0950/4136/ab3e/7b1dc612931b/1280x1280.mp4
I think my least favorite is Sudden Desire but I would still not cut it. Kind of get why some people dont love Taken cus my first listen I wasn’t sure, but I can’t get it out of my head and it’s so groovy I’ve really come around.
every song on here is at least good if not great, i feel like i would like it to be tighter but also i love the way each batch of songs has its own arc. idk. great album
then again the length of the paramore s/t doesn't bother me at all so maybe i'll eventually get over it
I haven’t gotten to the “skip” phase yet with this, but it’s looking like Leave It Alone and Sugar On The Rim will be those tracks for me once I feel like I’ve really tried with them for long enough. Really cool that on a 15 song record there doesn’t seem to be a consensus miss track though
I love hearing her talk about what she's been thru. When ppl would criticize the age gap relationship with Chad and others would defend it and say it was taking away her agency to say it was toxic.... I feel like she just articulates so perfectly what the criticisms tried to get across and she seems to have grown a lot from it. Def admire that strength.
That review started so well and then they said Dead Horse didn't work and I just couldn't follow their logic after that.
Honestly it reads like it has higher than a 7.2 but I guess it is Pitchfork, what are they without scores that fight against the tone of what the review is saying lol And yea that whole passage about Dead Horse seeming like she's wearing a costume is a bit head scratching.
This album is a ride I love taking every time I listen. An utter emotional catharsis laid bare with such brutal honesty. After watching her lock so much away for so long from afar, we have this beautiful work of art that is as much therapeutic as it is heartbreaking. Truly seems like she has taken her power back with this album and I am so excited for everything to come, with Paramore and for her personally. My heart can also not contain the utter joy at watching the closeness of her, Zac and especially Taylor working together on something like this. It feels truly like a labor of love from them all and a gift from Zac and Taylor to her, and a gift to Hayley from herself. I am so moved.
