some of this kinda reminds me of angel olsen/sharon van etten type stuff. i feel like she’s too big/a different type of big for it to happen but i would love a tour with them together
I found the full interview on vulture and changed the link. It's a good read on what Hayley had to deal with at the start of her Paramore career.
reading her talk about the divorce all I could think of was how you were vindicated, and also proud of her obviously
admittedly was not big on the first 2-3 songs released and did not listen to any others until now, but happy to say i'm a lot more into this now after a full listen. idk how often i'll come back around to it, feels like one of those albums i'll need to be in a certain mood to listen to, but there are some real fun tracks on here.
Hayley seriously outdid herself with this record. I love that there's so many different sounds and influences all over this thing but it all works so well.
interesting. I think the first section is my favorite with 1 or 2 from the second. The third I don’t recall a lot from at the moment aside from a song or two. what makes the third your favorite (at this time)?
Ahh that’s such a fun little song! I remember buying the soundtrack for Jennifer’s Body just to get it.
Dead Horse seems so familiar yet new at the same time it's hard for me to explain. Excited to dive into this album. I loved the last Paramore album and I'm sure this will not disappoint.
i had these same feelings about after laughter so maybe i should bite my tongue, but i'm immediately tempted to call this the best material i've heard from her. there's a vital energy from start to finish and it feels like a natural progression from the band's work while simultaneously a clear stylistic departure.
the gruffness on some of the screams feels new and i personally welcome the fuck out of it. also in re: to the interview, i love it whenever someone reaches the 'fuck it i'm naming names' point of their career
God I love this album I’m kinda curious how it would have been received if it sounded exactly the same but was released as a Paramore album
