Fucking gross. I'm glad that John and Michelle were upset about it too. Also I kind of figured, but I'm glad to see from that interview that she and Sherri Dupree-Bemis are on good terms with each other now. Definitely seems like a good, important step in the healing process
Noo he was pissed at his friend, she didn't want to mention the bands name at first because it wasn't something they were ok with
given what we know about the whole culture surrounding that tour and the scene it gave rise to, it's sadly unsurprising
Am I understanding that quote correctly that it was one of the non-John/Michelle members of straylight that said that about her? Another day, another disappointment I guess..
The level of depth and intimacy she's been demonstrating in this press cycle is so inspiring. At times it almost feels like too much---like I'm listening in on a conversation I'm not a part of---but seeing her articulate her struggle, grief, confusion, etc also feels empowering. Like if she can name it, so can I. And I know the record will be the same.
Great interview. The bit about Warped Tour culture is full-on, but sadly, somewhat unsurprising. That drive-by on Straylight Run, woah.
Honestly the craziest thing about that vulture interview for me is the image of a 15 year old Hayley in a room with lawyers demanding she be in a band. Crazy.
@ImAMetaphor already said something to this effect, but I really have never seen any artist be as open and honest as Hayley has been in these interviews.
Even without being really surprised by any parts of the interview, I found myself gasping multiple times. Just the way she's transparently sharing her experiences is inspiring, and I admire how much she's taking control of Paramore and her own narrative back.
