praying this doesn't complicate the vinyl release and it's all on one (probably actually two) discs lmao
lol if this is a singles boxset i will be so so sad edit: i think the singles on streaming is cool. love all the different artworks!
I love having different artwork for each song but I will be treating this as an album… it might be my favourite thing released this year Jack Appleby as in former contributor to AbsolutePunk? I think if she’s pissed him off she’s doing the right thing lol
Went to New Zealand YouTube out of curiosity and Ice In My OJ is the only song up on her account there currently.
i've clearly not messed with AM enough the last few years I had no idea you could do that with non-local files lol. thank you
Is it easy to make those edits from an iPhone? Or do I need to be by my MacBook? (I don’t pay much attention to this kinda stuff these days. I just download and listen.)
the one catch with metadata editing on Apple Music is that sometimes it might not fully register on the mobile side. for instance, i tried editing the album name for one of the previous Kesha albums on AM (since she changed it on other services), and it wouldn't show up on my phone with the amended name
Daniel James is the producer and a co-writer for all of the songs. He did Flowers for Vases and wrote on some of Petals for Armor.
No idea if either of these suggestions will be helpful or not, but it's worth a shot. Double check when you click info on the album and go to Sorting that both "album and sort as" reflect the album name you want. You can also go to File, Library, Update Cloud Library and see if that does anything. As a fellow metadata tinkerer those sometimes have resolved issues for me in the past with things not syncing between the computer and mobile.
i have tried those before (i think updating the album name auto updates the sort name too), and unfortunately they don't work. my guess is that what's happening is that whatever's in Apple Music takes precedent over your own metadata unless you're only making minor changes to track titles (i.e. fixing capitalization). the only way to bypass this would be to upload and match it, but doing so generally means you don't get lyrics for your matched songs, which kind of sucks.
I had the weirdest Apple Music import experience ever with this release. I originally downloaded the files with a download manager scraping the entire site, then tried importing into the AM macOS app. Every file was its own album, and it wouldn't let me batch edit the metadata to make it all one album. I had to do it one by one, and even then, it would show up as two albums, with one only having two songs. I got fed up, deleted it all, and downloaded the Google Drive link, then edited the numbering to what I found on the mobile site. It also would only let me put EGO in all caps as the album title, not putting my own. Everything was auto-complete only in the edit window.
Hayley updated her spotify playlist and this is the order she has the tracks listed in. (Typed it out in case the embed doesn't work for anyone.) 1. Ice in My OJ 2. Glum 3. Kill Me 4. Dream Girl in Shibuya 5. Whim 6. Mirtazapine 7. Brotherly Hate 8. Love Me Different 9. Negative Self Talk 10. Disappearing Man 11. Zissou 12. Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party 13. Discovery Channel 14. I won't Quit on You 15. Hard 16. True Believer 17. Blood Bros
lol diabolical... doesn't look like anything else on that playlist is in album order though, so i'm skeptical.
