throw a curveball and play one of the decanonized HalfNoise songs Zac pulled off of streaming (everything before the Sudden Feeling album)
No 12 on Billboard albums this week. Not up to speed on the release or why it initially debuted at 180 something then shot up.
Playing every song from this on the tour is wild. I obviously figured it would be the majority of the setlist, but thought something more like 15 from this with 5-8 others. Sad we will probably never hear much from Petals (or Flowers) live, but also I suppose the new stuff is mostly what I want to hear at this point. Still, I hope she sneaks a couple in at least (especially Cinnamon)
Cinnamon is a must. i could also see a small handful of other songs she did with Daniel James making the setlist (as opposed to songs she did with Taylor), so Dead Horse, maybe the other two he did from Petals with Taylor (R/L/V/I, Bloom) and one or two cuts from Flowers
Probably has to do with the physical release, they don’t count those units until the shipping date has passed.
i know it’s special when my swifty wife has been prioritizing listening to it over showgirl for a couple weeks now
i think i've at least wanted to return to this album at least once or twice a week (and generally do). haven't touched TLOAS in over a month at this point. just very telling about quality.
I will once again compliment the release strategy because at 20 songs this is kind of a lot to sit down with in one sitting. As an album listener I usually feel compelled to do that, but it's like Hayley gave me permission to listen to this however I want, so I don't feel the same pressure and am able to put on random songs more often. That being said, almost every time I do that I end up queuing up most the album once I hear one song lol
Also Showbiz really is an incredible send off for this project. It didn't hit as hard as Parachute or Good Ol Days on first listen, but it gets me every time now. Very special song
despite wanting an official sequencing, i think anticipating it and digesting the songs the way they came out made me appreciate all of the songs even more than i would've had the album come out all at once, and made me excited for the last 3. so in retrospect, it was effective.
My problem is even though I want to listen to the other songs on the album, I keep putting side D on.
Every week it feels like I have a new line or song in my head from this. Lately it's been "Too big for my fishes"
No that’s completely fair. The emotional build up from Dream Girl to I Won’t Quit, and then the release of Parachute and the last two songs is brilliant stuff
