Someone somewhere is probably saying something like, "You know, Hayley is kind of cute for a millennial" and I don't think I can handle that.
I still remember ordering something I believe from fueled by ramen website and they included promotional material for paramore's first album which is so weird because pretty sure that was like last week
The amount of millennial jokes I make at work that go straight over the heads of my fully adult coworkers depresses me lol
I was super late to the Paramore game. Got into them the day After Laughter came out. I’ve only seen them once and I regret not knowing them earlier so I could have saw their other tours
i have a vivid memory of first learning about Paramore in early 2008, sitting backstage with fellow cast members as part of a local production of The Miracle Worker, when a friend handed me her iPod Nano and showed me the video for Misery Business. changed my life.
Saw them open for Acceptance in 2005 when I was 14, fell in love with Hayley and the music. Never looked back since.
Opening for Anberlin and Copeland in 2005, then again on the Shiragirl stage at Warped that summer. They were fucking great.
Heard Paramore right when they dropped the music video for Pressure in 2005 with a little MTV interview that they played on TRL and never looked back. Listened to Ego Death with my partner on our drive back from the USWNT match against Portugal last night and emotionally turned to them and said, "I know you're probably sick of hearing this, but Hayley Williams is so fucking important to me."
I saw them open for Halifax at one of their first Philly shows I believe back in 06. It’s been the best journey following Hayley from then until now.
Don’t remember when I discovered them. I know for sure when I saw them for the first time in 2006 I was very familiar with the singles and maybe a couple other random deep cuts. That show made a proper fan out of me though
Paramore is what got me into the music scene. I was pretty indifferent on music as a whole as a kid; didn’t really listen to bands or buy CDs. I was playing soccer with some friends when I was like 14 and tripped on some barbed wire when retrieving the ball in an abandoned lot. I was close to my aunt’s house, fortunately, so when she was tending to the wound, she put on the TV and I watched some MTV while I was icing my leg. Careful came on not too long after and that music video changed my life. I thought they were the coolest people in the world and became obsessed with rock music pretty much instantly. I still have the scar 15 years later
first time hearing Paramore was a video on punkrockvids.com of them performing an acoustic version of Here We Go Again in 2005ish. Hooked since!
To this day I'm still angry the first time I saw Paramore had Dear and the Headlights open for them, but I didn't know who they were and didn't really appreciate it. Now, Small Steps Heavy Hooves is one of my favorite albums of all time
yup! not a ton of entries, but the MizBiz blasphemy accusations (her use of the word "God") and some BTS while recording S/T was pretty interesting
caught this tour as well! So sick seeing Hayley come out and sing with them at the time. Felt massive.
Daaang I don't think she did that with them at my show. Iirc they were on a smaller stage with the lights all still on and barely anyone down in the pit. What a bummer. I also wasn't a Jimmy Eat World fan then and left early when Paramore was done their set . I was a dumb kid.
I heard of paramore from a very early time frame and knew their singles but I didn't really listen to an album through until brand new eyes and even then I wouldn't say I was a full-fledged fan until after laughter. But I remember feeling a very big sense of Injustice that they were co-headlining with Jimmy world back in the day because Jimmy eat world is My favorite band and I felt like they should have the clear headlining slot. And the last few tours Jimmy world has done near me have been coheadlining ones and I stay complaining about it because I want to see them do a full headliner set because it's been years. So nothing changes!
