Don't worry, when it's eventually released physically, an album will then exist! Technically a compilation I suppose, or anthology
Here's the order I came up with: I really like how it would work for a vinyl pressing: Side A 1. Blood Bros. 2. Hard 3. Kill Me 4. Ice In My OJ 5. True Believer Side B 6. Mirtazapine 7. Zissou 8. Brotherly Hate 9. Discovery Channel Side C 10. Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party 11. Negative Self Talk 12. Glum 13. Dream Girl In Shibuya Side D 14. Disappearing Man 15. Love Me Different 16. Whim 17. I Won't Quit On You
I already think these songs are ungodly good, and I feel like I've only scratched the surface of the enjoyment I'm going to get from them.
Her solo material has really come into it's own with this release. Her previous releases had standouts but this album is so much better as a whole and the songs feel more fully realized and interesting.
I’ve gotta hand it to her. As much as I’d prefer an album release with a set tracklist, this is a pretty brilliant way to massively increase engagement directly with and around this project. It will be interesting to see if this becomes a trend.
It’s made it so I don’t want to listen yet. So, I hope nobody else ever does it like this. Maybe I’m just an old man yelling at a cloud, but it’s just not how I listen to music.
it's just a lot of singles released at once, don't see why you'd avoid listening to them just because they aren't part of an official album
She said there will be a vinyl. That’s why she is asking for people to submit their track list, so she can choose one as she will have to choose one for the vinyl.
that's kind of my point though - if they're just going to pick a fan track list, it's not really "official" and they could very well have multiple different track lists, it's also explicitly not an album but rather a collection of singles. the track list is, to me, irrelevant.
