Didn’t think I’d spend this afternoon reminiscing on pushing carts at Winn-Dixie listening to Bloodhound Gang in 2003.
I like this more than This Is Why and Petals for Armor. We'll see if it keeps climbing up the discography. I love Flowers for Vases. The vocal and instrumental melodies there are *chef's kiss* and then the other Paramore albums are way too seared into my brain and memories. My love for those knows no bounds. My heart breaks for Hayley though. The lyrical content is so good! The instrumental clicks for me half of the time and the other half, it doesn't. But I admire the risks and respect the direction. Seems like she really pushed herself to make something cool and interesting. It is not a boring album by any means. Faves so far: Ice In My OJ, Glum, Whim, Negative Self Talk, Disappearing Man, Ego Death, I Won't Quit On You (!!!!), Hard, Blood Bros Mid: Kill Me, Dream Girl, Mirtazapine, Discovery Channel, True Believer Not loving: Brotherly Hate, Love Me Different, Zissou
I think I'm gonna listen to this as intended, a few songs at a time, every few days, randomly, whenever
If you accessed the site on mobile the songs were static, they appeared in what everyone is calling the website order.
They were still movable. That was the whole “bit” for the site. They were just in an ordered list in the code but weren’t meant to be in an “order” for listening.
Wow I had no idea this was a setting! Thank you. These songs are, like, really awesome. Wasn’t expecting this.
Seems pretty clear to me that she’s hoping for people to find their own order right now and by not looking you’re missing the point. If you look in the trash can on her updated site, there’s a clip from Jumanji that says as much. Taking my own advice, here’s a version of the tracks in order of the images on the mosaic cover art collage!
I know a lot of people don't want to speculate about the band's future and who really knows where they'll be a few years from now but the only thing you can possibly take away from songs like "Brotherly Hate" is that they're done, at least for now. Anyway, I'm really enjoying these songs. Hayley's solo career has been incredible to me so far. Loved the first two albums, especially Petals. I really hope more people start paying attention to her solo work because she's making some truly special stuff. Favorite songs from the single drop so far: Ice In My OJ (my #1), Kill Me, Brotherly Hate, Disappearing Man, Love Me Different, True Believer, Dream Girl in Shibuya, Mirtazapine Looking forward to getting more into the other songs.
I took it to be about Zac and Taylor for some reason when I was reading the lyrics on Apple yesterday, but I guess that could have been wrong. Genius has some of the lyrics slightly different and the explanations on there say it's about Zac and Josh so idk.
Hayley verified the lyrics on Genius, so, I’d go by those. I don’t think she left any comments though.
I’m only going to listen to this album on shuffle from now on. I kind of like the chaos which is so unlike me. Perhaps liked by finding the album to be delightful - I’m loving it!
This is what I decided after my first spin too, just didn’t seem to flow with the website order, and I don’t think it will “flow” how my brain wants it too.
Listened to four of the songs last night and I already like this collection more than her two albums, very cool stuff
She literally promoted Zac’s new music in the press release yesterday and did an interview with him for AWKIF20, I think they’re fine
take this with a grain of salt, but per HasItLeaked, not only is a new Paramore album still coming, but apparently 3 of the songs for Hayley's record were originally planned for the next album
just relaying information from their Discord, but i do agree with you. wasn't specified what the three songs were, and they all feel so personal to Hayley, it feels hard to imagine any of them as Paramore songs (at least lyrically)
Don't think HasItLeaked has ever been proved as reliable. Their predictions are so vague and read like something anyone could make up
that's fair, i don't know a ton about their track record. only thing i remember them saying coming true was when Lorde was gearing up to release Melodrama and they indicated some hints about the sound/timeline of the album shortly before the campaign kicked off.
