It really is wild looking back at a good chunk of the biggest bands from this scene and how overdramatic and murdery a lot of the lyrics were over someone being taken out of someone's top 8 or whatever. And yeah, it's a shame that The Forecast got pigeonholed a little bit due to being on Victory. Always thought they'd have been a better fit on Vagrant/Polyvinyl/Saddle Creek.
I can't tell you how many times my wife and I will be listening to one of these bands in the car and some super over dramatic or violent line will come out of nowhere. We just look at each other and laugh. I loooove armor for sleep but they are the kings of over-dramatic lyrics. Outside of a whole album about driving your car off a bridge, they have a song about getting ditched at party and freezing to death waiting outside lol
Amazing. Dude probably thought of those lyrics while his gf was in the bathroom or something and he felt abandoned. One could compile a list a mile long of the most overblown violent lyrics written by dudes in Pacsun girl jeans between 2000-2005. Stereogum or CoS or Brooklyn Vegan will probably get to it eventually.
Yeah this band was playing to 30 people a show in 2011. One of the most dramatic falls from grace I’ve ever seen. No one with an ego would be able to handle this.
i saw them in 2011 at a skatepark and yah it was a minimal crowd, some heckler kept yelling for ohio and JT said we are gonna get to it be patient, and then after they played it that group of people left and didn't stay til the end of the set..
