You can see him for a brief second in this episode. I’m pretty confident he will show up next week.

Uncle is definitely Kingpin. If you feel as adventurous, you can find leaked shots of his new look out there.

  7. I think another reason why this show feels underwhelming is I just don't care about Clint that much, even after all this effort to humanize him through his family. I'm more excited about Kate, Echo, and the potential appearances of Kingpin and Yelena. Even when Civil War had every other Avenger the heart of the movie was still the conflict between Steve and Tony.

Kingpin and Yelena are definitely in this, the post-credits scene in BW was for this show.

I mean the show is pretty focused on Kate so far, which has been great.

Yeah I don’t care about Clint at all, mainly because I’m ready for Renner to be gone, but I’m enjoying this for pretty much everything else about it. Steinfeld especially, she’s killing it.

Just caught up on this after burning through Wandavision and Loki. Loving this, first episode was about as rushed and convenient as a setup goes but that's my only (minor) complaint lol

Clint has always been a side character, an auxiliary member of the Avengers. This is honestly the first time he’s honestly gotten any focus that wasn’t tied into something bigger than him and so far, he’s been solid as both a co-main character and a mentor to Kate. The hearing impaired stuff really means something to me too, granted my hearing isn’t as bad as his (yet) but I definitely understand how it is to live like that, having to work harder just to be able to communicate and not be a burden.

That’s also why I love how they’ve treated Echo in this, the beginning exploring her background hit home, I had to pause it after the classroom scene for a few minutes because I had flashbacks to my school days. I had teachers who would single me out as a burden and back in the 90’s and early 00’s, teachers REALLY didn’t like having to accommodate for disabilities. I remember being in classrooms where I was put in the back of seating charts and shit like that, made me hate school among other reasons. I also dug how they showed how attentive she is via that martial arts school scene, I had to teach myself to do the same stuff to compensate for my hearing and even now, I’m like hyper-aware of details and things like body language and movements.

I guess what I’m getting at here is that I really like this show so far because of not just because of the story or how good Clint is as a character in this but also how they’re handling something I’ve had to live with my whole life. It’s fucking cool to see hearing impaired/deaf people do badass shit despite their disabilities as well as showing the issues they have to deal with in a fair and realistic light, representation matters so I can forgive a problem here or there with the show because of that.

This and Loki were my least anticipated and so far Loki has been my favorite of the Disney plus shows and I’m enjoying this a lot too. And now Kingpin hype? Oh lord.

I had no idea Kingpin was gonna be involved. So happy they're absorbing Daredevil into the MCU. Hope we see that Bullseye again someday too

The way the episode used Clint’s hearing loss as a framing device was really good IMO. A good mix of using it comedically and dramatically. Also loved the subtitles for the ASL being incomplete when it was Clint’s perspective cause he’s just not that good at it

Oh wow, forgot that hearing impairment plays a part in this series. I’m profoundly deaf so I think I’ll need to chime in later

Finally watched this episode today, and I'm totally onboard with the idea of Maya's "uncle" being Kingpin. It feels like the kind of thing they wouldn't keep a secret unless it was a revelation that's going to excite people, and nothing makes more sense than it being Kingpin. I just really hope they keep the Daredevil show as canon as possible.

Also, without knowing if it's being portrayed accurately, I'm finding the whole deaf angle for Maya and Clint to be a very interesting wrinkle in how these action scenes are playing out.

Lastly, I'm looking forward to the powder keg that's going to go off when the show finally chooses to let Maya and Kate in on the fact that Clint is Ronin. I'm interested to see how they'll handle the complexity of what's happening here. It kind of circles back to what we were discussing about Tony and unintended consequences.

Like, Clint killed a bad guy. And yet to Maya, he wasn't a bad guy, he was her father. And Clint is the hero that inspired Kate, but here he is, having done something that's hard to view as heroic in light of Maya's trauma. I'm interested to see how they handle this when it gets out in the open.

They're teasing and building up the uncle basically the exact same way Daredevil teased Fisk at first. It's absolutely him

If “Uncle” ISNT Kingpin, well, that’s pretty damn shitty to do to us, ngl.

Also that very clearly sounded like D’Onofrio’s voice when he pinched her cheek.

Actually you know what never mind, I think I know what is going on and it’s probably not Kingpin. Hate that they are getting our hopes up like it is.
