Hawkeye (2021, Disney+) TV Show

in April 2019, a limited series focused on Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye was reported to be in development, with the plot involving Barton passing the mantle of Hawkeye to the character Kate Bishop

Stoked for this, especially as Kate’s been confirmed. I really hope it leans heavily into the humour of the Fraction and Thompson runs. From the art style of teaser it seems like it might.

Also with how the tv shows are going to be linked to the movies I hope bringing Kate in at this point leads to a Young Avengers film at some point down the line.

 

When they showed the logo I definitely got Fraction vibes which makes me so much more excited.

 

Oh yeah as soon as I saw that and saw Kate’s involved too my excitement level went up so much more than when it was first announced. It’s probably sold me on getting Disney+ whenever it gets launched in the UK

My favorite recurring thing is Hawkeye mentoring and interacting with female characters. I'm glad we get a show of that.

 

Kate Bishop is far and away the most exciting part of the MCU coming up for me. They better nail that casting, she’s top 5 Marvel characters for me.

Looks like a lot of fun. Exciting to see all the Fraction / Aja stuff come to life.

I know all Marvel productions have humor to them, but this trailer seems to lean harder into the comic tone.

Frankly, the tone and the music gives me strong Jingle All The Way vibes. With arrows.

I like it. And, like with Falcon after Wanda, I think this will be a good straightforward program after the heavier and more complex Loki.

I think they're deliberately going for over-the-top goofy. "All the best Christmas presents come with a bow" is so ridiculous it borders on parody.

Which I guess they know they can get away with because they have such a dedicated fanbase that's going to eat this stuff up.

I imagine the show will be a bit more serious.

 

I’m ready to see Echo and Kingpin in this.

So the villains are a result of his time as Ronin?
