Does your version not have As It Was on it? I'm confused because what I have is definitely real but Track 4 is Satellite and there's no As it Was...
My tracklist order seems to be different lol I’ll DM you. Mine was in a specific order but there was no track 4, like it had tracks 1-3 and then 5-13. So I just added in As It Was myself since I knew that was what was missing.
interesting seeing harry stans on twitter freak out about the morality of listening to this album a month early
Sushi fucking GROOVES as the opener. Honestly for the first 10-15 seconds or so I thought I’d downloaded a fake leak lol, starts very unexpectedly. Really sets the tone for the album to expect the unexpected.
very curious about the actual track sequencing. someone pointed out Music for a Sushi Restaurant flows into Late Night Talking, and this seems like a more logical flow than leading into Boyfriends.
I just DM’d someone else what seems to be the “proper” tracklist, I’ll spoiler tag it in case anyone wants to avoid: 1. Sushi 2. Late Night 3. Grapejuice 4. As It Was 5. Daylight 6. Little Freak 7. Matilda 8. Cinema 9. Daydream 10. Keep Driving 11. Satellite 12. Boyfriends 13. Love Of My Life
a lot of hype around Harry Styles as a solo artist has always felt a little unearned to me. I think he’s probably going to prove me wrong with this one. Really good so far.
Tbh, for me this is a bit of a snooze; something you put on in the car when you just want something light and breezy. Doesn't really move me one way or another
I'm a fan of his first two albums but I still get this -- I think the fact that he has more classic taste and is influenced by 60s-70s rock/folk pop has earned him a lot more credibility but the music itself isn't like, mindblowing. There are a few songs on each album where the potential for something greater shines through. Also I'd never say this on Twitter cuz I'd get eaten alive but the way Rolling Stone/Rob Sheffield writes about Harry seems insanely disingenuous....I get that he's friends with Harry and the stans cheer him on, but it's weird to me how Sheffield is this esteemed writer with an encyclopedic knowledge of music and then he writes about Harry using twitter stan language and says he has "built one of the wildest, weirdest songbooks of modern times." Like you don't cover music to the extent Sheffield does and actually believe that statement... Anyway this new album has jams
Definitely wouldn't mind a DM :) Both of his solo albums surprised and grew on me so looking forward to this.
Yea it’s strange how he can come off as a stooge for this kind of stuff (he does a similar thing with T Swift, and even if she is a great songwriter, the way he writes about her and Harry is still off to me).
i do think this guy gets graded on a curve (with no real evidence for it, styles had next to nothing to do with my favorite one direction songs) but he's also released three albums in a row drawn from a very personal set of influences that don't have much to do with what's currently popular. not everyone that exits a boy band has an immediately identifiable personality that isn't simply an exchange between formats, cf. zayn's "i'm an adult who has sex now, here's my r&b record"
Yeah this is definitely the most consistent of his albums IMO; I don’t know if it has the highs of Fine Line but that album had 3-4 songs I actively dislike whereas I at least enjoy every song here
