I wonder how much money WB offered her for a prequel or sequel series. She seems to only allow the films or tv to be based on something she’s written. She’s the screenwriter on all the Beast movies. I wonder how they were able to get the video game made with an original prequel story.
That’s basically what I texted to my wife, who was a big fan of the books when she was in junior high and high school. The music is nice and visually it looks well made and the kids are cute so it’s well cast, but also….I’ve seen all of this before and not so long ago. I get that they’re remaking this for money and also to cater to the new streaming generation, but, well, there it is.
Each season is a full book so they can tell more of the story and show stuff that was omitted in the original films.
Fuck JKR but the movies left a lot out from the books. I get why, besides money and nostalgia, that they’d make each book into its own season.
1) I think the later fantastic beast movies also just didn't do that well. They both know the real money only in the book series. Prequel or Sequel series absolutely might flop 2) Given how outspoken Emma, Daniel and Rupert are about JKR's awfulness she absolutely is also trying to use this to create a version of the story without those three attached
Well so then you haven't "Seen this all before" because some of it has literally never been on screen?
Music here has no sauce too. I dont think anything Zimmer makes for this series could match how iconic Hedwig's Theme is.
The part I don’t really understand is a lot of the omitted stuff is from book 4 onwards so the first two/three seasons are gonna be super similar and have trouble beating the allegations of being exactly the same. Would have been way better off telling a new story (Mauraders or Hogwarts Founders) before retreading again.
I imagine the seasons will have to vary in episode length as well. Books 1, 2, and 3 only need to be between 6-8 episodes each and still be able to cover everything in those books. Books 4, 5, 6, and 7 will have be twice the length to not omit events.
