He has but from what I recall, I think he said he wouldn't work with/for her as opposed to working on something she created/associated with.
Extremely disappointing if any of them return. It's never going to die, but it'll rot quicker if the big names let it go.
Imagine being this petty about something that's hurting so many people, indirectly or otherwise. Couldn't be me
The report says Warner wants them to return, not that they are confirmed to return. However once they offer them 20 million each, I bet they all take it. In Warner’s last earnings call, from before the game came out, they talked about doing more with the Harry Potter franchise. The game likely wasn’t much of a factor.
Well of course they always wanted to do more with the franchise, but the box office returns for fantastic beasts were declining with each film. The success of this game obviously lets them know that if you make something the fanbase likes then the money will follow.
how did they get banned from reddit? Like there are plenty of people on reddit actually supporting the game out there not getting banned.
Very well made video. She’s one of my favorite channels and I watch every upload she does. But…I get her points and I still disagree with her.
apparently people falsely reported her and her boyfriend for inciting violence or making violent threats. Which lead to both of their personal accounts to be suspended and their Reddit for the channel to be locked down. Disagree and what? Playing the game at all? Or the initial intention to make a review?
Playing the game. It’s promoting it on stream. Even if you’re donating to the Trevor Project while doing it…it’s still promoting the game.
If they don’t come back I’m hoping for the following casting: Sam Smith - Harry Jackie Chan - Ron Idris Elba - Hermione
One thing I realized I don't like about the scope of HP's world building, the wizarding world outside of Hogwarts seems like its so much more rich and interesting but the few projects we have had that explored the outside adult wizarding world have kind of sucked shit. Imagine Star Wars if 85% of it centered around the Jedi Academy.
I am surprised the backlash of this game hasn't led to people trying redirect it into hype for the few unproblemic franchises that have pretty strong and loyal queer fanbases that have big games coming up. Namely Star Trek Resurgence and Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora.
I agree, but Star Wars honestly has the same (or worse) issue based on how often it goes to Tatooine. I always think of how Prometheus was originally barely related to the Alien franchise, and then they rewrote it to feature Xenomorphs. I wish more scifi franchises were able to expand their universe past their original characters and locations.
Probably because not nearly the same amount of people who have asked for an open world harry potter have asked for a new star trek or avatar game. I doubt many people even know they exist compared to hogwarts legacy.
https://variety.com/2023/gaming/news/hogwarts-legacy-sales-850-million-1235533614/ Wow, insane numbers.
It sold more than Elden Ring did in 2 weeks and it was only released on newer consoles and PC. Pretty impressive.
