Decided to re-read everything. Just started Half-Blood Prince.
I'm halfway through re-reading Order Of The Phoenix. Man, Ginny was robbed in the movies.
Ginny is such a greater presence for sure. I just wrapped up Order last week. Forgot how whiny Harry is and how Umbridge is a bigger villain than Voldemort haha
My friends and I like to call him "all caps Harry" in OotP cause he's always screaming.
I got the illustrated copy for my birthday I love it
The illustrated copies are going to become prized possessions for me. They'll be next to my illustrated Tolkien novels on my shelves as long as I life. Perfection.
How does the text compare to the original publication? Is it abridged, and if so, how severely? The illustrated edition looks beautiful, but I haven't been convinced to pick it up just yet.
Nice. I just started reading these for the first time. Just finished The Sorcerer's Stone and started Chamber today.
I may be wrong, but I'm like 98% sure it's the entire text.
Had no idea an illustrated version existed, but this deluxe version looks absolutely gorgeous. Harry Potter | Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Deluxe Illustrated Edition - J.K. Rowling and Jim Kay
I don't need three copies of it, but that cover alone is worth buying a third. Hot damn.
That looks amazing
Just about to finish my re-read. Bummed it's coming to an end.
A feeling I know all too well haha
Only the first book is illustrated, right? Is the plan to release one per year?
It was originally supposed to be all seven in three years, but it seems like it's been expanded quite a bit.
These will forever be my favorite books.
I was rereading them recently, but other stuff came up when I was halfway through Order of the Phoenix. Definitely need to jump back in soon.
working my way through the series for the first time.
books 1 & 2 are okay, but super flawed. book 3 is pretty terrible, but man, Goblet of Fire is real good stuff. finished it tonight / this morning and it has me interested and invested in finishing the series. new characters, world growth, character growth (FINALLY), new settings and challenges... real good stuff. not perfect, but a lot fewer flaws than the first three books.
interested in watching the films after i'm done with the books.
I love these books so much. Thinking of reading for 6th time now since nothing else is grabbing me like they have, and they just make me really happy
The Cursed Child has started it's run.
Sounds like a giant mess to me. I'll still pick up the script when it's released but I really wish that Harry's story ended at Book 7.
Anyone else do your Ilvermorny sorting quiz? It went live today. I'm curious how most people correlate or if any exists.
Pre-ordered Cursed Child yesterday.
Been listening to the audiobooks. Pretty great. Halfway through book 3.
