Signed up for ticket access last week, didn't get a code and was put on standby figuring nothing would come of it but about an hour ago got a text from ticket master with a code so I jumped online and after some panic remembering passwords and choosing a date I got my tickets for next August! It'll be my 4th time seeing the play and 2nd time with the original cast. Stoked!
Just signed up for tickets for 5th January 2019... seems like ages away but I haven't seen the play and have avoided the book version of the script so worth going for.
I was able to get two tickets for a show in May 2018 when the presale happened a few months ago. $200 total and that includes parts 1 and 2, on a Sunday. If I can't go I am definitely selling them and making some moneyyyyy
Hated this when I read it, but just came back from seeing it on stage and it was so amazing. The set designs and costuming, choreography — everything basically that you can’t see in the book version — were crazy well done and magical. Already trying to figure out how to see this again.
So funny this was bumped today - I saw it in London on Saturday with my wife and I absolutely loved the experience. It really was magical and I was impressed by the staging. I think Part One was the best, whereas the plot in Part Two became a bit weaker. I'm glad I went in without knowing any of the story as I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much. I know there's been a bit of criticism of the overall plot and I think that is justified, but the experience in the theatre was worth it and I'm so glad I managed to get tickets!
I’v decided I will probably never get to see this so I picked the book up again and finished it. I loved it. I think lot of the criticism comes from people not quite understanding the difference between a play and a novel. Also fuck the cornballs that pretend it isn’t cannon, haha.
at our intermission. play is good but weird. the production is very, very good. like shockingly so. the acting and story are a little weird though haha. love the scorpius kid. and the actor that plays harry is really good but nothing like radcliffe. especially notable in the scene that overlaps with the epilogue
