I love Funny People and think its length is justified. It’s a character study above all else and without that room to breathe I don’t believe it would be as impactful. Also from strictly an acting perspective, I’d argue it’s a top-5 Sandler role
seems like quite a few people really think that's my boy isn't an unbelievable piece of shit (save vanilla ice)
That's My Boy is frequently cited as one of the worst movies of all-time, but Sandler and Samberg and a great pair and it's kind of a movie grounded in bad taste being taken to the extreme. It is incredibly dumb but makes me smile a lot, even when it shouldn't
I think I may have only seen two of his Netflix joints (specials not included), but Sandy Wexler deserves a little more love. Much better than it has any right being.
The song for Farley is one of the best things he's done recently except for the line about Farley being in Grown Ups 3.
I haven't watched Bulletproof in years but I remember liking it. All the kids movies entertain my son so they get the normal ranking for me. Deeds, Chuck and Larry, and Grown Ups 2 all make me laugh here or there but the latter two especially are just dumb lol. Have never gone out of my way to watch his other movies, some of which I know I need to watch and others I know I don't need to based on reviews lol. I always liked 50 First Dates a lot and its up there in rewatchability with his other classics IMO. Wedding Singer is probably my favorite, or at least the one I get least get tired of rewatching
No love for Reign Over Me? That movie surprised the heck out of me when it first came out and I loved it. Ended up watching it again about a year ago and still gave me the feels. The only weird plot in that film is the patient who tries to randomly seduce the doctor and than has a thing for Sandler. Her character felt out of place, but other than that, its a good story.
Yeah; A man who lost his family in the September 11 attack on New York City runs into his old college roommate. Rekindling the friendship is the one thing that appears able to help the man recover from his grief.
i will never forget (get it like 9/11) my reaction when i watched this movie for the first and only time. absolute whiplash.
Billy Madison was definitely the most quotable Sandler joint. Some of those lines live in my head forever. "tuhtuhtoday juniah!", " if peeing your pants is cool consider me Miles Davis". I used to sing "got my lunch packed up, my shoes tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight! Oh back to school back to school" to myself before first day of school for years.
