Sandy Wexler and the first murder mystery are fun. Hubie Halloween is great.

Was lucky to see this at a theater over the weekend and had a blast! Definitely helped that there was an audience to laugh along with

didnt expect this to be high art or anything but this is easily down at the bottom of the barrel with most of his 2010s output for me.

This made me laugh so much more than I was expecting. For all of the things I could criticize it for, it was a fun viewing experience watching this with a big chunk of my family.

This isn't even necessarily a criticism, but I almost didn't know how to feel after watching it because it felt like three movies jammed into one. The first third felt like a genuine attempt at a sequel and a continuation of the story. The second felt like a celebration of the first movie and of golf itself when it dialed up the number of pro cameos and callbacks to the first. The last third felt like......Space Jam 2. I expected absurd humor but surgically-altered mutants isn't the direction I predicted lol

god i loved this. they leaned heavy into cameos and some "if you know you know" references, but, this was great.

They lean too heavy into assuming there may somehow be people out there watching 2 that did not see 1, and they attempt to fix that in the laziest way possible

Honestly who cares? My kid never saw the first so the flashbacks and nods to the past helped fill him in while bringing back a rush of nostalgia for me.

It’s bad filmmaking, and it should bother any person who has seen the original movie. Why didn’t you show your son 1, the better movie, first?

I enjoyed the movie enough, but I can still call the lazy slop lazy slop

    edit:
That’s in response to a now deleted post.

Probably because he cares more about minecraft and roblox more than a golf comedy from 30 years ago.

But watching the second one with him and sharing laughs for 2 hours was absolutely perfect.

edit: this is me responding to the question rather than defending the movie itself

Watched this last night. I went in with the lowest possible expectations. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great. Pretty much middle of the road for Sandler's catalog. I like the story, wasn't really expecting Happy to be dealing with alcoholism and his kids were a good addition, especially the daughter. That said, they could have toned the amount of cameos down by half and it would have been all the better for it. Some of the comedy fell flat as well, like it was trying to balance humor from the 90s and with modern day. The whole maxi golf stuff was not great either, making flames come out of the ball was just goofy in the worst way possible.

I do admit the bit where they show all his kids mimicking giant dicks while at their jobs gave me a good laugh, lol
