It’s better then the first single but that’s mostly due to Aaron’s vocals for me lol

I just got a email from bandcamp that they are releasing a new album in February

in all honesty does anyone even give a fuck about this band anymore?

The first two albums are still really good in my opinion, but everything after hasn’t peaked my interest.

I still had a little interest in the later stuff with Trenton, but now that he’s gone it’s all super generic.

It's kind of weird that they're calling this a 4-EP series and then they have 11 songs (including the 4 from the first EP) you can already listen to on Bandcamp (no other EP differentiation), with more songs apparently being released in 3 months. Just a strange release approach.

Loved Dissonants but this doesn’t really hit for me personally.

I liked anon but that was the last album I truly got into from them. The first three are the best for me

I must’ve missed that announcement. I heard the first ep. I don’t remember anything about it though

Dissonants was great. Anon didn't do anything for me but I appreciated the swing.

The five-track, self-titled EP was actually really good and a step in the right direction - but since they kicked out Trenton for artistic differences, I've had little interest in anything they released. Trenton was such an interesting songwriter and seemed like a good guy, it sucks he's been lost to this public part of the music industry.

Agreed. I follow him on Instagram and he still posts a bunch about his time in HLH and looks back fondly on it… I really feel like the band did him dirty, he was a very key part of their sound.

Yeah same here. He's still grieving the band a bit, you can tell he's still hurt by the whole affair.

so they let him go over musical differences and allegations, i thought he got called out for something and that's why they were quiet for awhile?

The allegations were against a different member, their rhythm guitarist, and were eventually disproven.

ah ok i must've misremembered, thanks!

i miss trenton, i have fond memories of seeing them live with the OG lineup, they were amazing!
i first saw them in 2015 and i was blown away by their live set, they opened up for silverstein on the DTW annv tour.

we missed the trees glow gold beneath.

trenton's (former vocalist) new project is re-recording ground dweller. first two songs from it dropped today (one of them being an early demo i think?) and lion skin. pretty exciting!

Ground Dweller was incredible when it came out. Nice re-recording, but I’m not sure I’d reach for it over the original.

Agreed. I’d personally rather have brand new music from him, this is cool but idk how much I’ll revisit.

    hate my favorite band

Cruel Men was from their EP before Ground Dweller fyi. I believe that EP is what got them signed, but it was wiped by Rise when they did. This Ain't No Place for Animals and an acoustic version of Lion Skin were on it too.

I recently had Trenton on my podcast to talk about Ladders On Tables, his departure from HLH, why he's re-recording 'Ground Dweller', and what he has planned once that's finished.

We discuss that initial EP too actually - you can listen to the story from him directly for sure, but essentially the plan was an EP, labels only wanted an album, so they held off on the EP and created 'Ground Dweller' instead. 'Cruel Men...' never made it past a demo because it was too similar to 'One Hundred' which they opted for instead.
