Gave it a spin for the first time today. Didn't really grab me at all, but will give it another few listens. Kind of sounded like they wanted to go in another direction while still writing songs which would fit in with their past stuff, but didn't quite nail it.

I’m seeing these guys tonight (going for Emarosa) and hoping they play some jams off Dissonants because this new record is not grabbing me at all either. I like Overthinking and that’s.... pretty much it.

I'd mostly want to hear stuff from the first two albums if I saw them live honestly... I'm glad I got to see them once during Unimagine era.

I sadly have to agree. I think it overall sounds like very formulaic, generic radio rock. It’s good but nothing game changing.

I also agree. That is when I saw them as well and I have to admit other than a few songs nothing since Unimagine has stuck with me much which is a shame.

Their cover of Torn is still amazing though.

New songs sounded pretty good live, but I haven’t listened to this yet. They didn’t play a single song off of Ground Dweller.

I listened to the album once and it's probably not a good sign none of the songs stood out as interesting.

  9. Those who miss their old sound, I recommend the new album by Time, The Valuator.

Yeah this band’s pretty cool. A bit heavier than old HLH was, but solid nonetheless.

  13. Yeah when I reached the end of the album, I realized that they're a bit closer to Periphery actually, down to the over the top clean vocalist, but the potential is there.

When he raps it’s a bit weird but not awful.

After seeing these guys live for the first time since Unimagine came out, I realized Dissonants is better than I’ve given it credit for. At the time, that album was a lot more streamlined musically than I wanted from them... but those songs are SO MUCH fun live. I’ve been listening to that album a bunch since Sunday.

Dissonants was a great album. I put it on the same level as Unimagine.

Dissonants is their best record if you ask me.

Personally, I think Unimagine is their best, with Dissonants being second.

I think this is a solid EP. They’re getting better at the more alternative/mainstream rock sound.
