Two hour premiere on August 23rd. First season was more miss than hit, but season two is fantastic. Excited for this to come back
I've been watching this the last two weeks to try and get caught up for the new season. First half of s1 was rough but I'n starting to really love it. On s2 ep4 now.
I watched the pilot and enjoyed it but never went any further. I kept meaning to catch up after seeing all the acclaim for season two, might get around to that soon.
For some reason I thought this got cancelled so the fact that a new season is starting very soon is pretty nice.
Season 1 started off pretty rough but right around the last couple episodes it started picking up. Season 2 might as well have been an entirely different show. The retooling to focus on Cameron, Donna, and Mutiny was the smartest thing the show could have done, and all of season 2 was just wonderful. I cannot wait for the 2-hour premiere. So glad I stuck with the show through the rough times and beyond happy AMC saw fit to renew it for season 3. I'm afraid this might be the end of the road, though. Unless AMC decides to do the same thing for this show that it did for Turn and renew it for a fourth and final season. Sort of unrelated but Mackenzie Davis might be Domino in Deadpool 2. This is a very, very good thing.
Just finished season 2. What a lovely little character drama this show became. I've never quite seen a show that so massively improved between seasons haha. Very excited for season 3 this week.
I still like the show and happy it's continuing but surprised AMC is keeping it considering its abysmal ratings.
I wrote this little review of the premiere. Actually it's more of a review of the first two seasons, but whatever. It's my first attempt at reviewing tv, or anything for that matter. Check it out if you feel so inclined, that would be cool! Van Likes TV!: Halt and Catch *fire emoji*
Excellent start to the season. The opening to the second episode with the reflection of Joe surfing on the sunglasses was fucking absurd though. Is that a reference to something I'm not getting, or truly just a ridiculous shot?
I'm guessing Joe does have AIDs and his smiling/laughing was a misdirect. I don't see why they would even throw that little subplot in for a quarter of an episode otherwise. The show is still ridiculous, but I love it. Mackenzie Davis is so good
My only guess was to try to keep the subplot topical for the time period as it still wasn't known to most people
Yupp, I think that's what his "I don't know if I have a next" line was about. This show is excellent.
This show is no longer just "much improved," I wouldn't feel wrong now calling this one of the best shows on television.
Also: "Beware baffled humans. Beware of false prophets who will sell you a fake future - of bad teachers, corrupt leaders and dirty corporations. Beware of cops and robbers. The kind that rob your dreams. But most of all, beware of each other. Because everything's about to change. The world is going to crack wide open. There's something on the horizon - a massive connectivity. The barriers between us will disappear. And we're not ready. We'll hurt each other in new ways. We'll sell and be sold. We'll expose our most tender selves only to be mocked and destroyed. We'll be so vulnerable and we'll pay the price. We won't be able to pretend that we can protect ourselves anymore. It's a huge danger. A gigantic risk. But it's worth it. If only we can learn to take care of each other. Then this awesome, destructive new connection won't isolate us. It won't leave us in the end so.. totally alone."
