Halsey Band

Halsey is the stage name of Ashley Nicollette Frangipane. Her debut album, Badlands, was released on August 28th, 2015, following up her acclaimed Room 93 EP. She is currently on tour / taking over the world.

 

Haven't given Badlands a spin in a while. Need to do that today.

 

I enjoy the album for the most part, I'm not sure she really brings anything new to the table, but she's pretty good at the style she works in.

 

ELI5 why is she being tabbed as the inspiration for "She's American"?

 

Supposedly used to date Matty Healy. (Heard a rumor that "Strange Love" is about him.) They're friends, though.

I never knew she was a hardcore 1D fan and wrote a song about Taylor Swift dating Harry Styles until I saw this article.

i still have never listened to the haylor song, but it reminds me of a tumblr post deep in my own archives where i wrote a parody breakup song between taylor swift and jake gyllenhall set to mine that referenced a bunch of his movies.
i had too much time on my hands.

 

I'm not sure if it's true or not but I hope she's dating Ruby Rose. They would be the most attractive couple on the planet.

In some interview, she said she's just enjoying being single now, but *Lido is her roommate. (They bought a house together pre-breakup I think?)

The Rolling Stone profile of her that was posted by Jason earlier today is honestly really captivating... I hadn't revisited her album in a while, but I think I will now. I read that and think of so many friends I've had growing up who have gone through similar struggles... the difference is she was very suddenly thrust into the limelight and now has to deal with these things publicly.
