This is my only gripe with the album. It really should've started with just a 90 second version of Bells in Santa Fe and straight into Easier Than Lying. The Tradition could move towards the end of the tracklisting.
i love this sm just realized alex g is all over it hometown is such a sweeet song i love her voice and feel like it really shines on this
following other artists, they have a limited time digital version with a bonus track on their website (Alice of the Upper Class). since this one is dubbed the Y2K version, my assumption is that we'll see 3 more bonus tracks beyond this. THE GREAT IMPERSONATOR 'Y2K' DIGITAL EXCLUSIVE with Bonus Track: “Alic
About three quarters through my first listen and this has a lot of interesting ideas throughout. Excited to sit with it for a while.
I think some of this is really great (and often devastating) but there’s quite a bit I’m not too keen on. And I really don’t like Panic Attack.
I’d love to hear what songs you’d call “pretty bad.” (Actually idk, maybe I wouldn’t! lol.) Also, both of those opening tracks rule, especially “Bells in Santa Fe.” The pacing of that thing to me feels so intentional and effective, building and releasing in all the right places.
Just finished my first listen. Damn, this album is way more melancholy and chill than I was expecting. I'll give it a few more listens. There was a lot that grabbed me right away, but a lot that also kinda bored me.
It's so wild to hear her over Alex G production lol. "Ego" has grown on me. I just think she's really self-seripus in a way that makes me cringe sometimes. "Dog Years" sounds great to my ears but there are certain lyrics/vocal deliveries that make me roll my eyes.
Instrumentally and production-wise, "Panic Attack" sounds like "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac. Kind of obvious, but good stuff.
Listened once through while driving and talking with my girlfriend so not a great first listen but outside of the songs released prior nothing grabbed me and I absolutely hated the song the great impersonator
Lucky literally sounds exactly like Angel of Mine by Monica and You Gotta Be by Des'ree. Love it haha
Looks like her team is trying to manipulate the charts a bit. They discounted the record to $4.99, wonder if those sales will be counted? They weren’t for Charli.
