The meta stuff can be a little eye-rolly but I think she's being genuine about something serious she went through and it feels particularly effective as a lyrical switch-up two-thirds of the way into what sounds like a throwback 00s pop song
might be an odd comparison (even if she showed up as a feature on Manic), but something about the way she smiled at the end reminded me a bit of Alanis, if that makes sense
Love the song & video! Very proud of Halsey's progression and how open she is being on this record. So stoked to see this one live.
Oh I love this! Graveyard is probably my favorite Halsey song and in a way this reminds me of it. They sound pretty different obviously, but the acoustic guitar over a pop beat gives it a similar vibe.
The Britney sample (well not a sample, what's the word?) threw me off at first. But here I am now on my 4th listen and I absolutely love this.
but... the video is about Halsey? maybe i'm missing something, but it didn't seem like there was anything wrong with it? *maybe* the shaved head, but that had nothing to do with Britney?
and for the record, i can get that Britney's probably on high alert about the ways in which her image is utilized/paid homage after the ways the media treated her, and she should have a final say over that. but there's nothing in this video that screams harassment?
