whoa omg that vid is so much wilddder than i couldve imagined i love the bratty ass vocals tbh perfect for the song
When I started getting super into Halsey last year and would listen to the “this is Halsey” playlist on shuffle, the tracks from hopeless fountain kingdom were often my least favorite. But, I’ve been listening to the full album recently, and the approach to the production honestly really works for me now. It’s aiming for “epic” and maybe not succeeding 100%, but like. I have a real affection for their indulgence and lack of shame/cringe, so the “big”ness kinda hits. And, the more, idk, hip hop flourishes do work quite work for their voice, imo. I appreciate that, even when they’re being a bit sweaty and overwrought and shit, there’s a confidence and sense of playfulness where I’m like, yeah girl. You got this, lol.
Halsey also posted a video of Basement right after. Not bad exposure considering they have 30 million followers
So it’s a Halsey song then lol. I’ve always felt that even at her best, the passion and vocal performances are usually much better than her actual lyrics, which have always been fairly cliched - to me at least.
I feel like her best stuff is written with some kind of specificity. Like, the writing on “If Can’t Have Love” is pretty strong and coming from a place of intensity. This … feels like two great artists who had to write a song for a movie in 15 minutes.
I unsurprisingly love this, lol. Halsey & Evanescence fit together so nicely. Will sound great in the theater as the initial credits roll.
Saw Halsey tonight. Fucking ruled. One of my favorite concerts I’ve ever been to for sure. Great production. Voice and hearing will be impaired tomorrow. Now just gotta wait 100 years to get out of this parking lot.
got my gf Hozier tickets for Christmas last year, the experience leaving was enough to not make me want to go back to star lake for awhile.
We pulled out of the parking lot about 20 min ago, so thankfully not quite as bad. But my friend I’m with said, when she saw Nickelback here, it was about as bad as you describe.
we got there early but got in the wrong parking line and got stuck in the very far lot on the complete opposite side of the entrance. glad you weren’t stuck for 100 years!
for my concert there was only public transportation getting there so to get out I had to take an Uber that with surge pricing was more than the cost of my ticket lol, but at least as you said Halsey ruled
