Ironically enough I was scrolling through their Wikipedia last night and saw a comment that they consider their work to be alternative, so it will be very interesting to hear what they consider to be pop.
Yeah, to be fair, being a Top 40 Pop Star isn't the same as being "Pop" genre-wise. I'd argue that HFK & Manic are the only albums so far that feels like bonafide "Pop" albums, with Badlands & IICHLIWP being firmly set in the alternative landscape.
Tour started, and hoo-boy, is this setlist a big'un Halsey Setlist at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach
I genuinely can barely fathom how she can do a 25 song setlist while also having a myriad of illnesses. That's... incredible. btw I was using she because I heard they prefer if you use her pronouns alternatingly, not being a dick
So glad I got tickets now. I was worried they wouldn’t do a ton from the new album but I’m happy to be wrong!
Every time I hear Graveyard I'm floored - just a monster of a tune and my favorite Halsey song (probably).
Apparently "Darling" & "Bad At Love" weren't originally on the setlist, but they added them midway through rehearsals. She also mentioned "Is There Somewhere" and another early song (probably "Ghost") got cut in their favor. Personally, I think I would've preferred the original setlist, but when you're getting 25 songs it's hard to complain.
I'm pretty sure they mentioned that they forgot to include any songs off one of their albums in the original set. Guess we know which one that was lol
It's crazy how many artists are posting about their labels needing tiktok moments. We're really at such a low point in music sales
i'm currently on an artist development scheme in the UK and have had multiple consultations and masterclasses with major label A&Rs and marketing managers who have talked to me about nothing but tiktok. there is simply no bigger priority in the industry right now and it's actually painful as a young artist who...just wants to make music.
