I'm kind of getting "Andor" vibes from this season, in terms of the slightly more serious tone of the acting and overall story, which is good

 

FALL OF REACHHHHH

This season is like a 180 in terms of its mood, the action , storytelling, everything.

I refuse to believe Keyes is dead! No body no death hmph. My only nitpick would be the lack of MJOLNIR armor in the last action sequence but regardless it was badass. I was hoping the Fall would be more than single episode but hopefully we get a space battle.

"As Master Chief and Perez are leaving the antique shop (at around 13 minutes) a first generation Xbox console is visible on the shelf beside the shopkeeper."

 

Right?!? When that fist fight happened in the beginning I knew we were in for a good time! Also the music was on point, it helped amplify the emotions in certain scenes.

Also the Xbox, I think it was a Halo Limited Edition console too hahahaha.

 

Bit of a filler episode this one; personally hoping for more action next time. I want a full-on fight/battle with Chief and Co fully suited up

 

Finally saw last week's episode. Hell yeah we're going places! This week's finale should be very interesting!

Having not really played the games myself, all the Last of Us/contagious spore stuff was lost on me, but it was cool seeing the Halo ring. I assumed the Halo ring was a human-based world, but evidently not. Guess I got a lot of research to do to understand it all (like this great article: Halo Array)

 

I'm genuinely a little surprised they did the Flood. Great season. Finale is definitely the best episode of the show (and I think I said that about 2 or 3 episodes this season). A good chunk of the CGI budget must have went towards that Chief/Arbiter fight. Looked really good for being in broad daylight

 

The spore stuff was the Flood, which is a whole lot worse than the Covenant. Basically the rings were CREATED to destroy The Flood so yeah......bad stuff. There's so much lore, like Covenant, Flood, Forerunners, even humans and the UNSC have deeeep history.

Yeah fantastic episode. Season 2 was soooooo good and it's such a stepup from S1. I joke when I tell people that although this has always been a Showtime/Paramount show that S1 was obviously Paramount and it looks like Showtime decided to shell out money for S2 lol.
I was also surprised they did the Flood this early! And Guilty Spark?! AHHHH Season 3 better happen.

Ugh; probably the size of the budget that did the show in, compared to the ratings it drew. Hopefully Netflix or Amazon can pick it up

 

Yeah, hope someone picks it up.

 

I mean I can say this as someone marginally interested: when the news dropped that Season 1 wasn’t going to be based on the game, I lost interest in wanting to see it. I imagine they lost a lot of potential viewers that way. Heard season 2 was good/started pulling more game stuff in but yeah.

Last of Us should prove to all these networks that you can adapt a game’s storyline instead of trying to make it something new. I’m already bummed hearing the newest ideas for the Gears movie/show is gonna not be an adaptation of Gears 1. So dumb.
