there's a second run theater here that double features Halloween 1 & 2 every year (I think) on Halloween which I've gone to and is sick
Yeah I’m definitely old. My first r-rated movie in the theater was Jason Goes to Hell for my 8th birthday lol
I have seen all the Halloween movies in theaters since H20, so 4 altogether. Generally speaking, never a great time because Halloween is intended to be suspenseful and tense, but none of those experiences were like that. The crowds were terrible, and I recall people walking out of the 2nd RZ film. Busta Rhymes was a gift and a curse to Resurrection. He takes you out of the movie entirely, but it's super funny to watch him talk shit to Michael Myers and then Bruce Lee style fight him.
Haven't seen Resurrection in a while, remember thinking it was fucking awful but I'd probably appreciate the zaniness a bit more now. I really like H20, even all the Josh Hartnett and Michelle Williams stuff, mainly because they both rule.
Finally finished my marathon of this series. Curse of Michael Myers, H20, and Resurrection were hard to get through. Here’s my ranking: 1. Halloween 2. Halloween III: Season of the Witch 3. Halloween II 4. Halloween V: Revenge of Michael Myers 5. Halloween (2007) 6. Halloween IV: Return of Michael Myers 7. Halloween II (2009) 8. Halloween H20 9. Halloween: Resurrection (only scenes saving this from last place is Busta Rhymes dressed as Michael Myers telling the real Michael Myers to skedaddle and he obeys, and Busta using Kung Fu on Michael) 10. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers
I never saw Season of the Witch growing up. I had always heard it was bad because it had nothing to do with Michael. I just never got around to watching it. Then about six years ago or so I saw it on TV one night in October when I was carving pumpkins for Halloween. I fucking loved it. “Watch the magic pumpkin! Watch...”
I haven’t been on in a while but JLC and the crew have been pretty liberal on instagram with posts. It’s keeping me hyped.
I’d imagine that Laurie is a presence in the film, but her daughter and granddaughter likely take up more screen time.
Is the Japanese Pulse really that good? I can’t think of many theater experiences I’ve enjoyed less than the American version, though I had no idea it was a remake until now.
I’m getting really excited. I love Halloween season, still unreal that one of my favorite Horror series is making a comeback. Truly hope it’s good.
