I am from Boston and can confirm that "ripshit" is a somewhat common phrase here. e.g.: Following a great deal of unwarranted hype, I left the theater absolutely ripshit after seeing Halloween (2018).
H20 is a product of the Scream era and I rented Resurrection when it came out on video and it sucked, I can’t imagine it aged well due to the technology that’s the narrative of the movie, let alone the “twist” that opens the movie
