The editing was bizarre in some parts.

 

Agreed. That whole opening scene that went into the title sequence just did not ramp up the way they wanted it to I don’t think

Michael is still alive. I wouldn't be surprised if they hurry and shoot the sequel in Jan-March and release it next October. Danny McBride said they almost shot this and a sequel back-to-back.

 

She should have sacrificed herself for her family and burned with him. Does she intend to return? If not I think we were due for a better conclusion of her story. I thought one of the three should have been taken out to increase the emotional intensity /impact going into the next film. Hope the lil kid comes back lol

 

I don’t think JLC would have come back just to die again, even if it was a better way.

 

It's just going to be weird if the fam appears in the sequel but not her. I hate write outs.

 

I was really expecting Judy Greer to not make it out alive

 

I was pleasantly surprised with how much she was in the film. I felt she was very far from the marketing for the film.

 

Yeah that's pretty much why I thought that too haha

 

It would be cool if she came back if JLC doesn't. Would give the film a little bit of credibility. Even if it means killing her off right away LOL

 

I also never called my grandma “grandmother” to their face. Grammy, Grandma, Nanny, but never “Hey Grandmother how are you today?”

 

JLC already said if there is a sequel she’ll be in it

Also - the grandmother shit was SO weird to me. Even her phone was labeled grandmother.

 

It's like they thought the audience would forget

 

But why not grandma - is that just a New England thing?

I wish we got more scenes with the granddaughter so they could characterize her a bit better.

 

I'm a Floridian so I have no idea lol

 

idk it felt kind of on purpose imo, like almost in spite bc she was mostly absent and/or unstable throughout their lives

 

I thought the “grandmother” thing was to re-enforce that she was a smartypants.

 

I kinda thought it was a weird Norman bates type of nod. Not for any other reason than it was slightly unsettling to hear it.
