That quote doesn’t give be a lot of confidence haha. Also seems really early for anything decent to be edited.
I’m usually skeptical about these “sources”so take with a grain of salt Almost All Test Audiences Reportedly Hate The Current Ending To Blumhouse’s Upcoming HALLOWEEN Sequel
Hey Sinister 1 is probably my favorite horror movie to come out in recent time, so I’m in! I’ll like anything with Michael Myers. I loved the Rob Zombie first remake despite how some people HATED it. If it’s a horror film featuring him causing some spooky chaos in a small town around Halloween, I’m down with it.
Disappointing to hear. I feel as though John wouldn't bother to be so invested if it were that mediocre. Hope a trailer changes this outlook on what's to come.
Ahhh I went looking for more responses to the screening and potentially just spoiled some of the movie for myself. If it's any help, I read some more positive reactions than what that article is reporting.
I haven’t seen every Halloween movie but I never found any of them at all “complex” or “nuanced” so I don’t know what that article is talking about
Compared to movies like The Purge or Sinister, they'e definitely more... something. I'm not sure which word I would use but the first two Halloweens are a lot more respectful to their audience I think. That reaction is certainly intriguing
I feel it's that the story of the original plays out like something that could be real. It's buyable. A patient escapes a mental facility and no one thinks it is as serious as it is, except his personal doctor who has failed to get through to him for years and fears him. Loomis is blown off, and the patient is free for the night, driven to find and kill off his family which he started as a kid. The only moment in which the story becomes ungrounded in reality, is when Michael takes six shots and disappears off the lawn. But that ungrounding moment serves as the reason why Michael was so scary. The realization of Loomis that he's not only evil and deranged, but unkillable? It's one of the best parts of the movie to me. Everything in between was just great horror cinema. Michael stalking about, being in the frame not doing anything but watching and waiting. Plotting out his sister's death. I could go on but you guys have likely seen what I am talking about. There is a real organic feel to the original movie that hasn't ever been recaptured in sequels.
“Michael Myers should be more funny. And how come he doesn’t dance any more? I want to be entertained here!”
