I was more excited for the Friday movie in October... then McBride and Gordon Green got involved. 2018, come to me!

In terms of slasher movies Halloween wasn't a particular favorite but I've come around over the years. Last fall I obtained a copy of the original paperback that was written for the release of the movie and it explained Michael's origins rooted in Celtic/pagan mythology which I felt aided in the story (this was later added in the sequels). I kind of hope they go that route this time.

I think the original is a perfect film

Well this just jumped to the top of my most anticipated for next year. With this and the new Alien, it's cool to see McBride moving into the horror genre.

The involvement of Green and McBride pushed this ahead of the new Friday the 13th for me in terms of excitement. I'm pretty thankful, considering the F13 instalment is apparently not happening

I really enjoyed the 2009 remake - wish they would make more.

There was a direct sequel to that one. Or do you mean more (original) remakes?

Rob Zombie's movies were great. Curious to see what DGG does here.

Wait, wait. What? This was near the top of my hype list.

Also I'm a little confused at the choice for writer/director. Did I miss some of their previous horror work, or will this be the duo's first attempt at a true horror movie?

  18. Looks to be their first attempt in the horror genre I think. Danny McBride is in the upcoming Alien: Covenant movie, though.

I'm ok with pretending Resurrection never happened, is that what we're rolling with?

it sounds like the film may be picking up after Halloween 2.

If you figure they're ignoring Resurrection, which means they'd also have to ignore H20, and H20 already ignores 4-6.

This may already have been confirmed but I haven't really been following this movie, suuuper stoked though, Halloween is my favorite horror movie ever.

I had originally read it picks up right when Halloween II ends but some articles are saying it's after the first one.

Love that this is rolling ahead.
