No, it's just a very different tone. It's better than Kills but I think a lot of fans might be turned off by the twist.

Originally I didn’t think I’d gaf about the twist but now I’m starting to think it’s bothering me a little bit…

I feel like I’ll be less mad about the twist knowing it in advance but I guess we’ll see

 

Corey being the killer isn’t the entire twist. I think the part that people will have issues with is the reveal of Corey being missing after he’s shot at the end, setting up the possibility for more sequels sans Michael, as he was crushed in the car compactor

I truly hope so bc the ending they currently have attached to is really not great. Setting it up for yet another sequel is just stupid, but money talks I guess.

Both kinda suck. I can’t believe they fucked this up so bad after a decent first film.

 

Clearly the phrase “it’s not broke, don’t fix it” does not resonate with them.

 

To be fair a muddled ending like that is entirely in keeping with the spirit of the Hallowe'en franchise
