Fuck it. Worst to greatest. 12. Zombie's H2 11. Resurrection 10. Curse 09. Halloween 5 08. Zombie's H1 07. Halloween 3 06. H20 05. Kills 04. Halloween 4 03. Halloween (18) 02. Halloween II 01. Halloween (78)
With everyone doing their rankings online, I have been tempted to do the same. I'm trying to watch the rest to re-evaluate before I do it.
Fuck it, I'll pull mine over from the Kills thread. GREAT Halloween Halloween II Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers Halloween (2018) Halloween III: Season of the Witch GOOD/BAD-GOOD Halloween Kills (probably) Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers OKAY Halloween Ressurection Halloween (2009) Halloween H20 DOGSHIT Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers Halloween 2 (2011)
Rewatched The Curse of Michael Myers last night and it is so bad and nearly every decision is baffling, but it's also bizarrely fun with great kills. Paul Rudd's overacting is unbelievable
Still need to see Resurrection and both of the Zombies, and I'll exclude 6 because I need to rewatch it 78 18 III 4 H20 II HK 5
Timeless Classic -Halloween 78 -Halloween 3 Bretty Gud Halloween 2 Not great but I'll allow it 4 5 H20 Dogshit tier Rob Zombie Ressurection 6 Haven't seen tier The two new ones
The portrayal of trauma & PTSD in H2O is so much better than the laughable caricature of such that Laurie is made into in 2018, made even more egregious by the fact that 2018 seems to want to be taken seriously. That alone puts it in well below H2O for me.
I feel the opposite. Laurie was made into a paranoid trauma survivor in both but I feel it was much more flushed out in 2018 than H2O. 2018 also had a much better atmosphere by going back to the basics.
I thought H20 did a good job of portraying what is often seen as the more “normal” response to trauma where people seem happy and functioning but really there’s a lot going on underneath, whereas 2018 gave us the more “unhinged” response that could be seen as a stereotype but also does exist in the real world
I feel like DGG's Laurie is just a monologue machine, especially in Kills. The only nuance or character she shows is when she crashes Judy Greer's family dinner and chugs wine.
This thread has successfully convinced me I need to watch the Zombie movies, which I never planned on doing (I'm a lightweight fan of the franchise, there's a bunch I haven't seen). But apparently the Zombie ones are either absolute trash or misunderstood masterpieces that bring people to tears? Interesting.
The second one is absolute hot garbage. The first one I’ve seen a handful of times and have always enjoyed it
Liked her very much in 2018, didn't think she (or Laurie) had much to do in Kills other than deliver bad dialogue lol (once again, I like the movie)
