I have. And this takes the crown from previous worst movie I’ve ever seen in theaters Your Highness. Wonder what the common denominator is
It's not even close to the worst movie in the franchise, but I guess we need to throw out crazy hyperbole since it just came out. Stop making me defend this movie.
They took a big swing and missed but this is not even close to the worst film in the franchise. Does no one remember how cheesy some of the last sequels were? I’d go… Halloween Halloween 4 Halloween 3 Halloween 2 (Zombie - not a slasher movie but this film shows trauma in a realistic way that not many horror films have done) Halloween 2018 Halloween 2 Halloween H20 (sorry this is just a Scream movie with MM/JLC in it, that Kevin Williamson look is just instantly dated) Halloween (Zombie) Halloween Ends Halloween Kills Halloween 5 Resurrection
Ranking for me wouldn’t change much. Halloween 2018 Halloween II Halloween 4 Halloween Kills Halloween H20 Halloween Resurrection Halloween 5 Halloween 6 Halloween Ends Zombie 1 Zombie 2 still never seen season of the witch
Halloween 2018 H20 Halloween Kills Halloween 2 Zombie 1 Resurrection Halloween 4 Halloween 5 Halloween 6 Season of the Witch Halloween Ends Zombie 2
I’d be super excited if they go in an anthology route going forward…lean into part 3 and go in that direction of individual stories tied back to the holiday of Halloween.
I don’t think there’s a binary between wanting a boring, run of the mill sequel and what this is. You could easily make a better movie in this vein and not be trying to be 50 things at once. One of my big problems with this is turning Allyson, one of the most human characters in this series of characters that feel like NPCs, into a generic girlfriend who’s placed under her boyfriend’s spell that she seemingly just met and has zero chemistry with. Everything that was charming about her before is gone and she just kind of sucks and the romance makes no sense. Also, I like the kind of throwback feel of the Urge radio. But it’s a wild thing to bring in this ‘70s-era radio station that no one mentioned in the first two movies and seemingly everyone listens to now. Also, loved seeing the Darcy The Mail Girl and also think it’s hilarious that this radio station has a secretary working late night on Halloween.
Haven't seen Ends yet but... Halloween Halloween 2 Halloween: H20 Halloween 2018 Halloween 4 Halloween 6 Halloween Kills Halloween 5 Halloween: Resurrection Never liked the Zombie movies much more that novelties, and never got into 3 for the lack of Michael Myers. Those bottom 4 could probably rotate some depending on the day. I do blame Tina in 5 for my weird thing for the "80's girl" look. Something about the jean jacket and hair and other parts of the outfit really reals me in haha. Teeanger me was super attracted to her/it for some reason.
As far as my last series rewatch went. My ranking is something along these lines. Halloween Halloween III 2018 Halloween 4 Halloween RZ Halloween 5 Halloween Resurrection (I said what I said) Halloween II (OG) H20 Halloween II RZ Halloween 6 Halloween Kills Halloween Ends
I don't remember hating them, but to me it was just like...okay cool a remake of two movies that I already find to be classics. I don't NEED them, but every once in a while if I see them on TV during the halloween season I'll leave them on
Just finished… I don’t even know what to say. I feel empty. I’m going to watch 78 and Halloween II tonight just to get the bad taste out of my mouth.
Bingo. It felt so forced. I kept trying to keep in mind that it is 4 years later and people obviously grow and change, but the whiplash felt from her character's change never sat right with me and it felt like a disservice to what we got in the previous 2, especially 2018.
Try as I might, I cannot get behind the decision made for Michael to hide out in the sewers with no explanation why for that long and then not kill Corey, and instead establish some kind of partnership with him. It seems that they were trying to show him getting weaker and weaker and then killing again allowed him to regain some of his power, and I guess because Corey helped him in that way (a la Hellraiser), he decided to use Corey? Idk it humanized Michael to me in a negative way and all of the mystery that typically surrounds his motivations in the past (normally very effective and adding to the terror of his character) just seemed lame in this context. I'm really glad some folks seem to be liking this a lot, but it was definitely not for me and the more I think about it, the more I actively dislike it.
Mike hiding in the sewers in this makes more sense (he’s old and got his ass beat at the end of kills) then him voluntarily getting arrested in ‘18/kills imo. If he actually ended up in that scenario with the all the cops on him he should have went down with a fight.
