I still consider them as bonus tracks. “FUBT” is too good of closer not to think of it that way and the others are too familiar to me by now to feel properly integrated into the album tacked onto the end like that. But I still love the encore feel to them after the album proper and I hardly play the album without going all the way through to “Summer Girl”.
I definitely have them separate from the album in my iTunes. I always have albums saved the way the artists choose to present their art, and in this case they decided for those 3 songs to be bonus tracks, so for me the album ends at FUBT then has 3 bonus tracks. It's all really just semantics though
They are 2-3 of the best songs on the album. It’s wild that they are bonus tracks. But that being said the record is phenomenal.
Remember in 2017 when their opener was LIZZO? hope they still play the forum when they eventually tour. it’ll be a special show I bet
yes I was at that show haha, it was insane seeing Lizzo go from opening for them to being a huge star in like 7 months haha
If I were to do it, probably: 1.) Los Angeles 2.) The Steps 3.) Now I’m In It 4.) I Know Alone 5.) Up From a Dream 6.) Gasoline 7.) 3 AM 8.) Don’t Wanna 9.) Another Try 10.) Leaning On You 11.) Summer Girl 12.) I’ve Been Down 13.) Man From the Magazine 14.) All That Ever Mattered 15.) FUBT 16.) Hallelujah Now I’m In It feels like (if I were to stick it anywhere) it belongs in the front as a single, but I wouldn’t want it to disrupt the flow between Los Angeles and The Steps. Feel like it could slot in there pretty comfortably. Fits thematically with I Know Alone as well. Summer Girl stylistically would seem to fit in pretty well here for me without disrupting the flow and I also like the idea that it’s preceded by Leaning On You. It’s a nice one-two punch lyrically of “I’m leaning on you, now you’re leaning on me.” Hallelujah I would put at the end because I just don’t really know where else it might fit without feeling like it doesn’t belong there. It’s one of my favorite songs they’ve ever written and to me it still feels like a stylistic, lyrical, and thematic victory lap consistent with the overarching theme of loving relationships and self care through their most immediate sources being each other. “I wouldn’t have gotten here without you.” It’s a quiet, beautiful, lovely way to wind down the whole album and narrative.

I didn’t at first. Even though I love Lou Reed. but then I watched the visual and it just floored me. Those last shots of them walking down the street in bras/swimsuits is iconic. also the opening couplet “L.A. on my mind, I can’t breathe you’re there when I close my eyes, so hard to reach” just fantastic.
My fiancee and I quarantined in a 1 bedroom in Brooklyn for four months. We never fled or left. Finally rented a house in the mountains for all of July with big backyard and pool. This is gonna get a lottttttt of play.
Have you heard the prerelease tracks for the new Texas Gentlemen record Floor It!!!? Sounds like it’s gonna be another big BBQ record.
"All That Ever Mattered" is my easy favourite right now, but that whole 3 song stretch at the end of the album proper is so good.
I haven't! I took off all of next week so I have plenty of time to listen to music. Adding this to the list, thanks.
got a shipping notification on Thursday for the yellow variant + signed postcard and Danielle cassette but the shipping hasn’t updated at all since then
