Second listen through, everything that felt weak before holds up. This is a great record!! I will say that the electronic drums on some tracks gives it a different vibe than the rest of the record (I Know Alone, 3 AM I think are the tracks that do this) but I still love the record as a whole.
IMO, still of the opinion that the first six tracks on STTY are the best run of songs out of all three albums
I was hoping this album was more like that, a new version of their upbeat summer jams. I like this album of course, but I'm hoping the next album is a bit more party.
I was just thinking I hope over the course of their career we get one huge pop jams with synths and r&b influenced album, and another album that is just huge riffs and solos
I wonder if they'll ever go solo especially now that Danielle has her own career outside the band, I know they mentioned Speakerboxx but imagine how amazing it would be if they legit did that
I wouldn't count that as a solo career at all honestly. Of course she's very important to that album, but she was part of it because she's dating Ariel and was always at the album sessions, not because she was making a conscious effort to do something apart from Haim.
I think this is a good album and is their best album yet but those last three songs should be on there proper. They're as good as anything else on it and fit in just fine.
Yeah I'm basically ignoring the fact those are considered "bonus" tracks, and it seems like most of the reviews out there are doing the same fwiw
I mean, even the sticker on the album mentions all the bonus tracks without mentioning they’re bonus tracks
