This is great. Not sure I like anything here more than the best stuff from Days Are Gone but front to back it’s definitely their best album. Really great.
Pretty sure they’ve cut all their LPs at 45. I know FJM does as well. At least on a few of his records. it’s relatively common but sometimes isn’t cost effective because it generally pushes everything to a double LP.
Wow this is so good. Definitely the most varied their sound has ever been but still distinctly Haim. There’s quite a few songs on here that don’t really sound like much they’ve done before. Basically rectifies my issue with the last one. I’m usually whatever about old singles tacked onto the end as “bonus tracks” but it’s got a cool effect here. Even though those songs aren’t even a year old, they feel like a victory lap after the end of the record. “I’m in It” and “Summer Girl” especially, I think they’re both already Haim classics. It rules.
I agree. Normally I delete bonus tracks if they’re included as part of the album, but I actually really love how they cap it off
Thought I wasn't really a HAIM fan but then I heard Gasoline and now I'm listening to the full album, and I think I might be a HAIM fan.
This is the album I always hoped they'd make - didn't think their first two worked that well as albums while having some really high points, but this is it.
you needed ass well what's wrong with that the R&B influences on 3 AM and Fleetwood Mac influences on Leaning On You Another Try sounds like All That She Wants in the best way possible when Haim said and I’ve been watching too much TV looking up at the ceiling It’s been making me feel creepy I felt that holy shit Man From The Magazine the scream from All That Mattered has to be a meme I would say this is the best idea of what a Haim album is given their disparate influences
I get some Rubber Soul influence on this? I'm digging it way more than anything else I've heard from them. This is cool.
That's the one I haven't heard yet so ok I will. Maybe the 2nd album just wasn't a good starting place.
I really love Leaning On You, I know everyone keeps throwing out all these comparisons to 70s bands but that song very specifically reminds me of 39 by Queen which is one of my all time favorite songs
