totally disagree. love the pogoing beat and chanting, then when that saxophone comes in at the end I feel utter liftoff.
‘Gone’ ‘All Over Me’ ‘Relationships’ ‘Down To Be Wrong’ ‘Take Me Back’ ‘Love You Right’ ‘The Farm’ ‘Lucky Stars’ ‘Million Years’ ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’ ‘Try To Feel My Pain’ ‘Spinning’ ‘Cry’ ‘Blood On The Street ‘ ‘Now It’s Time’
Dang…I think I might be with p4k on this one Singles are the clear standouts, it’s a lot more chill than I expected
“It’s around this point that the album glides into a new-wavey frictionlessness—call it the Zooropa zone—where it begins to feel like nothing ever really happens.” yeaaaa this articulates what I’m not really vibing with currently
I think Relationships was the standout song for me so hearing the above doesn’t excite me. I prefer when they lean into the pop side more.
Reviews got me nervous, especially because I’m upset I got Haim tickets for the same day Turnstile is playing here lol
Love Rostam’s production as always, but the album is basically as inconsistent as all of their records. Still pretty good though. I think I’m with P4K about the closer. It stinks, doesn’t really work at all imo.
I always get bummed out when reviews come out ahead of an album release and seemingly taint the waters, even if not on purpose, it's having an effect in here
