I had tickets to see them in San Diego and they announced Turnstile was playing the same day. I like that album more so I was considering selling them later, but then The Format announced they’re playing LA the same day as well and they ended up winning out. Oh well- hopefully Haim is at Coachella next year or something
I was at the One More Haim Tour in 2022 and it was at a roughly 8,000 capacity venue and it was quite underattended. I got offered a free pit upgrade due to the lack of people in the pit and there were sooooo many empty seats all over. They still put on a great show though! I was surprised though to see them book the United Center here after their last show not selling great.
Their show at MSG in 2 weeks has plenty of tickets left, but surprisingly prices haven’t dipped at all. Even the last row of the upper deck is $115.
Yeah I mean United center was ambitious as hell to begin with but I don’t think the album did filling it any favors.
They’re coming to DCish the same night as a sold out Rilo Kiley gig which seems like some self-sabotage in DC specifically.
They seem like a band that feels bigger than they are because of their Taylor Swift association, Alana’s movie career/working with PTA and some of their promo (getting a couch interview on the Tonight Show, for example) but in reality they just are not THAT popular/known for whatever reason and the “Hollywood” (including their friendship with Taylor) side of them has not translated over to the music. For whatever reason, Swifties are not stanning them the same way they are other friends/openers of Taylor like Gracie, Phoebe, Sabrina and Paramore. It does make you wonder if they were expecting that Taylor bump hence the booking of bigger venues (arenas) in some markets.
the shell design is post-covid I believe but I’ve seen shows there as early as 2016. no idea when that started though
yes. Opened up as this iteration in 2021. It’s essentially San Diego’s answer to the Hollywood Bowl in terms of events held. The symphony will do movie scores, perform with artists or bands, and then acts will do their own thing. Olivia Rodrigo did her first tour here and the sidewalk just to the right of the venue was jam packed with people that there’s now signage saying you can only hang out if you’re sitting on a bench.
Who the heck is dissing “The farm”? That’s like the most affecting song on the album! It’s the moment when you literally hear “I quit” in its most defeated context.
Same day as the Eagles season home opener against the Cowboys, whoever booked this date really did not do their research.
