Yeah that was their goal actually after 5 seasons to trick you into watching woke entourage. You got got.
I guess what I mean is, it now has moments of feeling similarly self-congratulatory and Hollywood-circle-jerky, just from a different vantage point. I still enjoy it but in a slightly deflated "might as well see it through" sort of way.
It might be my least favorite but I'm fine with them taking a victory lap and just having fun this season. Very glad there isn't another Debra vs Ava storyline.
Yeah it's still a good show for sure, for me it's just been the least funny and the least engaging storyline(s)
The characters have grown on me so much over the course of the show that I just want them to succeed. While it made for compelling tv earlier on, I personally was sick of the Debra vs. Ava dynamic by the end of last season. This season has felt light and breezy, like they’re on the other side of it all, and IMO it’s all the better for it.
i had some issues with the pacing of certain plot elements, but otherwise thought it was beautiful and fitting send-off for this show (one that gave me the same feelings as what they did with the finale of Broad City, albeit in a different way). really gonna miss this show. hope Jean and Hannah can get those Emmys again!
actually a pretty good finale, though I could have done without the ode to talent management. also, small pet peeve, but if you're gonna have a character take a moment of silent reflection in a cathedral to ponder mortal concerns, maybe you don't paste a sad song overtop.
the mona Lisa is mid there's no way Debra would have gone out in a way that other people would be so brutal about
Pacing was indeed kinda rough in this finale, but I don’t know what more I could ask for thematically speaking. Show has been such a light through the last five years. Gonna be hard times when spring 2027 rolls around and a new season of Hacks isn’t announced
Didnt love the season but enjoyed the finale. Didnt go the places i thought, but felt fitting and provided closure. Nice post episode breakdown to.
Nice finale. Agreed that it felt a bit rushed, and I get the complaints about how everything just happens to fall into place for them, but it's a fun comedy show I don't mind. Really gonna miss the show. fuck it, do a Jimmy/Kayla spinoff
I was thinking about what my favorite comedy series of the 2020's are so far and it's definitely neck and neck between this and The Righteous Gemstones.
