deborah being naive about her non-compete was a bit off though. it felt out of character. although i suspect that moment was for the audience's benefit, i can't help but think it could've been done better
I kinda hope next season is all about Deborah from the background helping Ava with her own comedy career. Basically inverting the basic premise from the first season.
Another great season and ready to see what the finale sets up for the future. I still laughed and loved it as show at the beginning of the season, but it was also tough to watch as man, was Deborah being so harsh... it all came together really well though and this season has definitely featured some memorable lines and jokes. Loved the chaperone and the new assistant and Kayla (as always) just delivers line after line that's hilarious.
The scene where Ava goes into Ruby's dressing room before Ruby appears on the show had my partner and I crying from laughing. It was so awkward and hilarious. I think we watched it 5 times haha
A bit of a weird finale from beginning to end. Still liked this season overall (with the second half better than the first), and excited for the next season.
Uh why did I think last week was the season finale? I saw a new episode dropped and was like huh??? lol
Last week absolutely should have been the finale and would have had a much better cliff hanger ending than we were left with. This finale could have easily been next season’s opener without changing a thing.
Yea i wasnt too hot on the finale but good season overall and great news to get more. If i hadnt seen the renewal before i watched, i may very well have thought they went the route they hinted at.
That finale must’ve been the product of some HBO deal with a Singaporean tourism company they had to somehow write into the show? Otherwise it was random af
There was an earlier episode this season where someone mentioned that Deborah was killing it with the Singaporean audience iirc, so it was a callback to a small throwaway line lol
I just feel like I hope that this show gets to a point where Deborah helps Ava achieve her own comedy stardom. I feel like it was sorta hinted at going there at several points, but reversed at the very end. That is the logical inevitable conclusion of this show so maybe they're saving it.
Fell far behind with this and a few other shows - just watched episode 6. Laughed really hard at Ava’s “Yeah, Ruby and I dated. I almost married her, in my opinion”
