I made a sappy post on facebook and I wanted to share it with you guys. Some of you have been such amazing friends to me and helped me through the worst days of my life. Love you guys. Special shoutout to @oldjersey the best worst person I know

tl;dr: I made a conscious effort to make healthy lifestyle choices and I'm happier than I've ever been.

The start of 2019 was kinda scary for me. I remember ringing in the new year by going for a run in the freezing rain just so that I could feel something. I felt numb. I was blacking out just to deal with the depression. I was unhealthy and sitting at around 200 lbs, a weight I told myself I would never get to. School was destroying me and I was miserable. I was wasting money on things to fill a void.

Around March, I told myself that this needed to change. I changed my eating habits, focused on getting to the gym, and went cold turkey on booze. A combination of those things made me feel like I had control over my life for the first time in probably 10 years, or maybe ever. In the time since, I've shed around 40 lbs, gotten back into running shape, and regained the confidence I leaned on drinking for. I'm in a thriving relationship and feeling better about life than I ever have.

I think the reason I wanted to post this was to inspire anyone who needs it. You have control over your life and need to be an agent of change for you. Love yourself and good things will happen. Life's good, ya know?
