Sorry for the way delayed response. I just got home.
I laughed because how is it not funny. I don’t really care if he swears, as long as it’s in the appropriate context and he’s not using his words to hurt someone (so like I was fine with it in this instance lol.) He said afterwards that he saw a police car, and he knows what the phrase fuck this/fuck that/fuck xzy means, so it seemed logical to me, I was just surprised. In terms of the subject matter, I’m sure he’s heard my husband or me say it previously when we’ve been talking to each other and knows our views on the police. I talk with him about how the police SHOULD be helpful, but a lot of the time they aren’t/sometimes they are bad guys. Tbh the conversation started coming up because some of the shows/videos he watches had episodes with the police in them where they behaved questionably but were made out to be doing public service and I was like no we aren’t watching this and had to explain why. There’s stuff that I think he needs to know but talking about them in ways that don’t scare him (too much) or make him anxious about the world is always hard. Like why do I have to explain to my 3yo that the police don’t help when they should or what guns are or that we live in a world where not everyone gets the same opportunities or that people are mean for no reason. I’m just trying my best to raise good people in a world that’s pretty fucked up.

Sorry if I went off on a tangent haha; These thoughts just go through my head all the time.
