Oh I won't ever return to it. I just don't go in for that type of thing anymore. I want there to be something I can enjoy about a film.

I really did love Black Swan at the time because it doesn’t get much more on brand for me than psychological horror about ballet, but I have zero interest in revisiting it and having that opinion go down the drain.

 

yeah that really bummed me out. I thought we could make it work but at a certain point I just realized I was fighting a losing battle and the most I would get for my efforts was Colby asking if the film we were supposed to be watching was streaming anywhere

I remember in college one of my friends wanted to watch Requiem because he heard there was an ass-2-ass scene, and I was like yeah there is but it's not what you're thinking it is.

 

I can watch miserable films if there's something to hold on to in the end, like the filmmaking itself or a lesson one can glean but I just see that dude as kind of exploiting rather than exploring his themes

it's one of the best pieces of art in history. just push through season 2 because it's mostly bad and Lynch left, but the first season and The Return are truly incredible

 

I saw FWWM already so it's gonna be weird going into it knowing who the killer is

I love FWWM but most TP fans don't as I understand it. a lot of people felt it took away a lot of the charm of the series and was just kind of stripped back to its ugly parts but it's Laura Palmer's story of how we got there and it's not a pretty one so it's not a pretty film
